Itinerary:
DAY 01: BAGDOGRA - DARJEELING
Arrival transfer from bagdogra airport or new jalpaiguri railway station (2 hrs.
) by car to darjeeling, transfer to hotel.
DAY 02 DARJEELING
Early in the morning excursion to tiger hill to behold the most
spectacular sunrise at
Mt. Kanchenjunga range (3rd highest mountain in the world) with the visit to
Ghoom monastery (Yiga-choling) to see the statue of Maitry (coming Buddha).
After breakfast: visit Tibetan refugee self help centre, Himalayan mountaineering
institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan zoological park.
After lunch : toy train ride up to ghoom & back by car/jeep (subject to operation
of this train and availability of the seats.). Overnight at hotel.
DAY 03 DARJEELING - GANGTOK
After breakfast drive 114 kms. 5 hrs. by bus to gangtok . Arrive and transfer to
hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 04 GANGTOK
After breakfast excursion to Rumtek monastery, tibetology & do Drul
Chorten. In
afternoon visit Enchey monastery, cottage industry, Tashiling, white hall &
Lall
market, overnight at hotel.
DAY 05 GAGNTOK - KALIMPONG
After breakfast drive (90 kms - 3 hrs. ) by car to reach kalimpong, arrive and
transfer to hotel. After noon sightseeing of Kalimpong visit Durpin Dara, Tharpa
Choling monastery, Zang dog Palri Fo-brang Monastery, nursery & market, overnight
at hotel.
Day 06 KALIMPONG - BAGDOGRA
After breakfast drive (80- kms - 2 hrs. ) by car to bagdogra or New
Jalpaigudi
railway station for onward journey.
