Jiri Everest Base Camp Trekking is a highly praised trekking route of the Everest region. In 1953 when two renown figures Sir Edmund Hillary and Mr. Tenzing Nogey Sherpa had taken the same route for the Mt. Everest expedition. Walking along Jiri Everest Base Camp Trekking involves many ups and down hills with the trail being well service with tea houses and good campsites in most of the villages. We also visit the Buddhist monasteries with prayer flags, the Sherpa and other ethnic groups including Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Brahmin, Chettri and of course the Sherpa’s. with their simple yet rich mountain lifestyles. Spring (March – May) and Autumn (mid September – mid December) are the best seasons for Jiri Everest Base Camp Trekking. The weather during day is sunny and warm with outstanding views but nights are cold. Winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) is also good for Jiri Everest Base Camp Trekking. Trekking in summer/monsoon(June, July) will be affected by rain but summer trekking could be a better for a keen botanist. The trekking routes are crowded during Spring and Autumn but during Monsoon and Winter the routes are not packed and you could enjoy rather best of nature.
