Fly between to 8 thousand meters mountain and get in the rain-shed valley.
Wendy riverbed makes difficult walk down but in the morning always-good
time. It is the good place to stay over night. Monasteries, rich culture
and nice people.
Day 05 Marpha - Kalopani

Leaving beautiful village Marpha walking along side Kaligandaki river
passing Tukuche, Largung, Kobang and kokhe thati after crossing the bridge
arrive Kalopani before the trek start down hill.
Day 06 Kalopani - Tatopani
Duration: 7 hrs

Descend down crossing few bridges on the Kaligandaki river passing
beautiful Rupse water fall and several villages along the Kaligandaki
valley passing the Worlds Deepest Gorge which falls 6000 mtrs from
Dhaulagiri (8167 mtr) and Annapurana
Day 07 Tatopani - Ghorepani
Duration: 8 hrs
Height: 2850m
Still walking along Kaligandaki river after crossing the bridge on it and
Bega Khola ascend steep up hill via Ghara and Shika. After long day climb
arrived at Ghorepani.
Day 08 Ghorepani - Ghandrung
Duration: 7 hrs
Height: 1950m
Wake up early morning and climb up to Poon hill from where can see from
Dhaulagiri range to Mustang range. During the Sun rise panoramic views
with colorful mountains. Again walk down to hotel and after breakfast walk
up hill towards Tadapani. Climb with Mountain views again through
Rhododendron forest. After the top path goes along the ridge and Trail
descends steeply through dense moss-covered forest rich with bird life.
Tadapani for beautiful sunset views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhare
Trail descends along the dense moss-covered forest again rich with bird
life. A short walk to Ghandruk, which is a big village of Gurungs and ACAP
office, gives you more affirmations. From village spectacular panorama
over the Annapurnas south, Himchuli and Machhapuchhare.
Day 09 Ghandrung - Pothana
Duration: 7 hrs
Height: 1900m
Walk down steeply stone step to Modi river after cross the bridge climb
back to Landruk Village and walk along the villages and slow climb to
Pothana for another panoramic point.
Day 10 Pothana - Phedi - Pokhara
Duration: 3 hrs walk and 1 hrs drive
Height: 960m
It is short walk to Phedi along the Dhampus village and steep down hill to
Phedi and drive back to Pokhara. On hotel
Day 11 Pokhara - Kathamandu
Duration: 6 hrs drive or 30minute fly.

Day 01 : Drive from Kathmandu
to Pokhara (914m.) which takes about six hours. You depart early morning
at 7 o'clock for the six hours drive by tourist deluxe bus to Pokhara
(915m,), 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu. As you climb out of the
Kathmandu valley, only to quickly descend again to the Trisuli River, you
follow upstream to its junction with the Marsyangdi River. You follow the
Marsyandi gently up through heavily terraced fields and small hill towns
to the Seti River that takes you directly into Pokhara. Having pleasant
weather, Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as
cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and
Hindus along with mountains. You can observe views to the north across the
hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and
Dhaulagiri ranges. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much
of the afternoon to fall in love with its beauty.
You can also fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara which takes about 25 minutes.

Day 02 : |
Drive from Pokhara
(915 m.) to Phedi (1130 m.) and trek from Phedi to Pothana which takes
about five hours. From here you begin your trek to Pothana (1900m.).
The trail ascends all the way to Pothana through forests till you
reach the village called Dhampus. It is a Gurung village which gives
you an opportunity to look at the magnificent views of Annapurna
ranges, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu. The ascent trail follows to Pothana
through the forests. This is a small village which is surrounded by
forests having marvelous mountain views. |

Day 03 : |
Trek from Pothana
to Ghandruk (1940m.) which takes about six hours. While trekking from
Pothana to Ghandruk the trail ascends gently to Deurali and begins to
descend upto Bherikharka through forests. Now you follow flat path
till you reach Landruk village. The path you follow till Landruk is
really exhilarating as you pass through many local villages rich in
culture, terrace fields and numerous green hills. From here the trail
descends to Modi khola (stream) and ascends all the way to Ghandruk
village.Ghandruk is a big Gurung village. There is a handicraft centre
and Gurung museum. From this village you could see good views of
Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III
(7755m.) and Fishtail |

Day 03 : |
Trek from Ghandruk
to Tadapani (2650m.) and it takes about four hours. The trek begins
through the Gurung village with beautiful Rhododendron trees, a birds
chirping and welcoming the guests to their area. The stream run downs
its clear and pure water as we climb up. We will come across the place
named Bherikharka with some tea shops and lodges for a rest. The trek
then continues with the forest of Rhododendron trees |

Day 04 : |
Trek from Tadapani
to Ghorepani (2853m.) which takes about five hours. Today’s trek
starts with a short decline till a small stream and then uphill
through the Rhododendron trees. We come across a place name Banthahiti
with the facility of tea houses and lodges. From here, the trail
ascends through the forests upto Gurung Hill. Now the trail descends
through the forest till Ghorepani |

Day 05 : |
Trek from Ghorepani
to Tatopani (1189m.) which takes about seven and half hours. This day
offers you an early morning trip to Poon Hill (3232m.) to enjoy the
sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.),
Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.),
Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare
(6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal
(6931m.) and other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks. After breakfast
you trek from Ghorepani to Tatopani. After descending through the
rhododendron forest, fine vistas open up we approach Chitre, with the
Dhaulagiri Range straight ahead. The path then leads through terraced
fields to Sikha, a Magar village clustered on a ridge. You continue to
descend, gradually at first and then more steeply to cross the Ghar
Khola. After a short climb, we then cross the Kali Gandaki on a large
suspension bridge and from here it is only a short distance upstream
to Tatopani. Tatopani takes its name from the hot springs near the
river below the village. At Tatopani you can enjoy the Natural Hot
Spring Bath. |

Day 06 : |
Trek from Tatopani
to Ghasa (2013m.) and it takes about five hours. The followed route
ascends gently up the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the
world, towards the village of Dana, which is surrounded by orange
groves. From autumn to winter, baskets of these oranges are offered
for sale to passing travelers. Just beyond the small hamlet of Rupse,
a thundering waterfall cascades down beside the trail. From here, the
trail enters the steepest and narrowest section of the gorge, but the
layered stone path is well-constructed and wide. When the rock cliffs
end, we descend to the river before making the short climb back up to
Ghasa. This is the first Thakali village we come across and the houses
here are all built in the flat-roofed Tibetan style.

Day 07 : |
Trek from Ghasa to
Marpha (2667m.) which takes about six and half hours. The trek ascends
crossing the wide valley of Kali Gandaki for about six to seven hours.
Through out the trek you will be enjoying the mighty Rhododendron
trees and many ethnic villages with a sparse population of Gurung,
Thakali and few Tibetans. On the way to Marpha we trek along the banks
of Kali Gandaki through the Apple orchard, you can eat apples if it
happens to be the fruit season. Marpha is a big village enriched with
a Buddhist Monastery in between the village which has its own cultural
importance. |

Day 08 : |
Trek from Marpha to
Jomsom (2713m.) to Kagbeni (2897m.) and it takes about five hours. You
continue to follow the wide valley of the Kali Gandaki, passing
through Khobang and Tukuche. Tukuche is a delightful village where
narrow alleyways and houses built around enclosed courtyards attempt
to provide some shelter from the winds which howl through the gorge.
The wind generally picks up after about midday, but will at least be
blowing at our backs as you head up to Jomsom. After passing through
stone-walled orchards, a stone gate marks the entrance to Marpha.
White walled houses line both sides of the narrow paved street, under
which flows a cleverly made drainage system. Marpha makes a good lunch
stop and the courtyards of the many lodges make ideal resting and
refreshment places. The local apple brandy is especially well-known!
As the trail continues towards Jomsom, the landscape becomes
increasingly arid and impressive with its mixture of browns, yellows
and grey, contrasting with the white snowcaps of Tilicho and Nilgiri.
By afternoon, the stiff winds begin to blow, hastening our way to
Jomsom. |

Day 09 : |
Trek from Kagbeni
to Muktinath (3795 m.) which takes about 4 hours. The Trail steeply
ascends for couple of hundred Meters. While gradually walking you can
enjoy beautiful deserted landscape, Caves, old Tibetan Style Villages,
apple Garden, Yaks Herds, Sheep Herds and so on. You can look at
Thorong La valley straight up to the Muktinath. You can enjoy
delicious lunch at Jharkot and visit Monastery believed to be built in
15 century. Now you head towards Muktinath following steep ascent path
for half an hour. You stay overnight at Muktinath village. From here
you hike to Rani Pauwa (3700m.), an important pilgrimage site for both
Hindus and Buddhists. Here you come across Natural flaming which
really exhilarates you. At this point, you can see splendid view of
Dhaulagiri (8165m), Nilgiri (7061m.) and others. Now you walk for
fifteen minutes to reach Muktinath Temple, where you can enjoy a holy
bath of 108 Taps. The people of Kagbeni, Jharkot and Muktinath are
close to the life style, culture, religion and idea of Tibetan people |

Day 10 : |
Trek from Muktinath
to Jomsom (2713 m.) and it takes about 5 hours. Today we continue down
for early two hours and then walk through the flat path till we reach
Jomsom. Between the walk lies Eklebhatti village where you find tea
houses and lodges. |

Day 11 : |
Fly from Jomsom to
Pokhara which takes about 20 minutes. The flights are available during
the morning time. The strong breeze blows during the after and
frequent change of the weather prevent the flight being landed and
taken off in the afternoon. During the flights in morning, the sky
looks very clear which makes you able to enjoy the splendid views of
different mountain peaks. |

Day 12 : |
Drive from Pokhara
to Kathmandu by tourist mini bus that takes about six hours. While
driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli,, Dumre,
Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal's first Cable car is operated to
reach to Manakamana Temple. En route, you could enjoy the mountain
views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and
people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe you
climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city.
You can also fly from Pokhara
to Kathmandu which takes about 25 minutes. |
Day 01 - Arrival in kathmandu
Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport
transfer to your hotel. Short briefing will follow concerning the
necessary formalities and your trekking itinerary. Depending upon your
arrival time you may spend free time visiting nearby sanctuaries or
resting.
Day 02 - Sightseeing / Cultural Day in Kathmandu Valley
Half day sightseeing around Kathmandu where your
guide will escort you on a tour of Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines
reflecting ancient local traditions. There is time to explore the city’s
many places of interest on your own or take a rest while trekking permits
are finalised. In the evening sample a delicious traditional Nepali
dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 03 - Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m)
Take breakfast before an early morning departure at
7am for Pokhara (200km), to take a plane to Pokhara, which gives you more
time to look around this village. Pokhara looks on to one of the most
beautiful Himalayan panoramas in the world. The Annapurna and famous
"Fishtail" mountain peak of Machapuchare tower over the tropical setting
of Pokhara and the time you spend there will be the scenic highlight of
your trip. You are free in Pokhara Valley - also known as the Dreamland of
Nepal - to explore and experience a variety of activities including
boating in Fewa Lake overlooking the Annapurna foothills. Stay overnight
in Pokhara.
Day 04 - Pokhara to Tikhe Dhunga (1491m)
After breakfast at around 07:30 hrs drive to Naya
Pul (42km) by car via the large village of Lumle and walk for about 20
minutes to Birethanti, a large and prosperous town. The trail follows the
main street of Birethanti, going through bamboo forests and past a large
waterfall and swimming hole. Beyond a pasture used by pony caravans, the
trail reaches Sudami where you have lunch. After lunch, climb steadily up
the side of the valley, reaching Hile at 1495m near Tikhe Dhunga (4 hrs).
Day 05 – Tikhe Dhunga to Ghorepani (2855m)
Breakfast is served at 0700hrs. From Tikhe Dhunga
the trail crosses a stream on a suspension bridge near the camp site at
Tikhe Dhunga. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase (which has about
3300 steps) to the large Magar village Ulleri at 2080m. Above the village,
the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. There is a
camp site for a rest and water stop one hour’s walk above Ulleri. The
trail crosses two sparkling streams before making a short, final climb to
Nangethanti where we stop for lunch. Thanti is a Nepali word meaning "rest
house”. In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. From Nangethanti
climb to Ghorepani at 2750m, from here we can see the spectacular panorama
of Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Tukuche Nilgiri (6940m), Annapurna South,
Annapurna I (8091m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Tarke Kang (7193m). Overnight
in Ghorepani 4-6 hrs).
Day 06 - Ghorepani to Tatopani (2520m)
A very early start – about 05:30 hrs - to climb to
Poon Hill (3210m) for a spectacular sunrise with unobstructed views over
the high Himalayas. You will see a panorama of mountain peaks from this
viewpoint. After sunrise, return to our guesthouse and enjoy breakfast.
Ghorepani means "horse water" and it is no doubt a welcome watering stop
for the teams of horses, mules and ponies that carry loads between Pokhara
and Jomsom. From Ghorepani the downhill trail follows the Jomsom route.
Across the rhododendron forest, we pass some small villages and walk along
side the Ghaja Khola. In Tatopani (which means hot water in Nepali) there
are natural hot water springs for your refreshment, be sure to bring a
bathing costume. Overnight in Tatopani (5-6 hrs).
Day 07 - Tatopani to Ghasa (2120m)
The trek now starts up the Kali Gandaki valley,
which is said to be the deepest gorge in the world Here we will enjoy a
beautiful day’s walking along the Kali Gandaki riverside, gradually
ascending into sub-tropical vegetation. We will cross the Bhalu Khola on a
high suspension bridges before arriving at Dana (1450m) Around 30 minutes
from Dana we will see a very high waterfall: Rupse Chhahara (which
translates as “beautiful waterfall”). From there we will continue through
the steepest and narrowest part of the Kali Gandaki valley, where much of
the route is cut through solid rock. We will cross the river again on a
120m long bridge to the east side. We will continue on to Ghasa, an ethnic
Thakali village and this marks the southern most limit of Tibetian
Buddhism in the valley. We will stay overnight in one of the guesthouses
here (6-7 hrs).
Day 08 - Ghasa to Larjung (2560m)
The trail follows the Kali Gandaki river, passing
through a narrow gorge before reaching Thakali traditional villages. Today
we will cross the gorge and river numerous times via long suspension
bridges, which make great photo opportunities. We will pass a couple of
villages (eg. Lete, Kalopani and Kokhethati). On the way we can see the
top of Dhaulagiri mountain peeking over the west side. We will end our day
in the village of Larjung (5 hrs).
Day 09 - Larjung to Marpha (2776m)
An easy and lovely day’s walking where we will first
see the village of Khobang, which has narrow alleyways and tunnels
connecting houses. We can make short side trip to the Kanti gompa (a
Buddhist temple). Then our route continues to Tukuche village (2580m), one
of the most important Thakali villages. We can see a wine-brandy
distillery here and walk through the orange orchard street. We will
continue our trek for another 2 hours before reaching our days final
destination at Marpha. Here we will visit some of the Buddhist gompa’s,
some of them are very attractive. The gompa’s are painted with a whitewash
produced from a special local stone (4 hrs).
Day 10 – Marpha to Kagbeni (2840m)
We wake up early today, because although the road is
not difficult it can become harder because of strong winds in this
particular area in the afternoon. Our trail leads us to the village of
Shyang at 2800 m before crossing the Shyang Khola to Jomsom (2760m).
Jomsom is the administrative headquarter for the region. From Jomsom we
follow the trail along the river to Eklai Bhatti and from there on to the
medieval looking town of Kagbeni (2840m). This town has closely packed mud
houses, dark tunnels and alleys and a large ochre-coloured gompa perched
above the town. From here we will follow a flagstone trail and passes two
tunnels. We will stay in one of the guesthouses here (4 hrs).
Day 11 – Kagbeni to Muktinath (3800m)
Today we will do the 900 meter ascend to Muktinath
which is an important pilgrimage place for Hindus and Buddhists. We will
first walk through Khingar (3400m) and then onto Jharkot (3500m), which is
an impressive fortress like village. We will continue our way to the first
part of Muktinath which is known as Ranipauwa, where we will stay the
night. There will be time to explore the area and see some of the holy
Hindu places like an eternal flame coming from natural gas next to a
spring which is considered holy as well (4 hrs).
Day 12 - Muktinath to Jomsom (2713m)
This is an easy day walking back to Jomsom following
a different route, but can be tedious if we are unlucky to get the strong
winds. From Muktinath to Jomsom, you will see the people of Mustang, a
restricted area to the north, who come to sell handicrafts to pilgrims.
Among their merchandise is the highly-revered mollusk fossil called
shaligram. We will pass some ancient caves and see the impressive white
mountain that is the Dhaulagiri. We also transit at the significant town
of Kagbeni, which is at a junction of 2 rivers and the north-south and
east-west trading routes (6 hrs).
Day 13 - Jomsom to Pokhara
Fly to Pokhara and spend the day at leisure,
relaxing, and maybe enjoying a massage or enjoy sightseeing around Pokhara
valley. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 14 - Pokhara to Kathmandu
Fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 15 - Kathmandu
Departure from Kathmandu.
