Everest Gokyo Lake Trekking Detail Itinerary: |

Days 01 : Arrive at Tribhuwan international airport, Kathmandu, you are welcomed by the hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to your hotel. Short briefing will be followed about necessary formalities and rest of the program. Depending on arrival time you will have choice of visiting nearby sanctuaries or have a rest day. Days 02 : After breakfast we drive to Swoyambhunatha stupa has it that Manjushree, found of Kathmandu valley, and discovered the lotus of ancient valley lake on which site the great stupa of swoyambhunath was later built. The omni sighted stare of Buddha greets visitors & residents a like compassion. This is one of the oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, which has been registered in UNICEOO heritage side. We then visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kathmandu durbar square situated the center of Kathmandu where you can see the House of Living Goddess”KUMARI” Kasthamandup temple” Said that was built from single tree in 16th century, big bell-big drams, erotic carving in old temple, old palace etc. We then finally were sightseeing to Patan Durbar Square. Patan Durbar square is one of the beautiful Durbars square in Kathmandu valley. It is very famous for woodcarving, Metal works, Temples and Monasteries. Tour of Patan includes tour of Krishna temple, Patan king’s palace, Golden temple and much more. Days 03 : Breakfast served in the early morning and drive to Kathmandu airport for your domestic flight to Lukla. It's takes approximately 40 minutes. During the flying may sometimes be seen from the window of the plane many of the world’s highest mountains, including Kanchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu (the world’s 3rd, 4th, and 5th highest respectively). Upon arrival in Lukla, you will meet our trekking crews. There will be time to explore the village whilst the Sherpa crew sort and load equipment. Lukla lies at an altitude of (2866m) and was laid out by Sir Edmund Hilary in 1964. From Lukla we descend on a wide trail northwest to the village of Choblung in the Dudh Kosi Valley. The valley radiates energy through beautiful pine and rhododendron forest. The walking is easy and we follow the river's course, passing through the village of Ghat. Our destination is the small village of Phakding where accommodation is provided in the form of Tea House Lodges. Days 04 : From Phakding we head up valley on a busy trail: porters from the lower Solu district in the south ferrying supplies to Namche Bazzar. Continue along beside the Dudh Kosi amongst beautiful alpine scenery, through the fragrant blue pine and fir forest, glimpsing spectacular views of Kusum Kangru (6369m) and Thanserku (6608m) along the way. We again cross the Dudh Kosi, to the western bank at Jorsale prior to trekking through the entrance to the Sagamartha National Park. Continuing upstream along the banks to the confluence of the Bhote Kosi and Dudh Kosi, it is here we begin our first sustained ascent to Namche Bazzar after crossing the large suspension bridge. Walking at a slow pace, we have a fantastic photographic opportunity as the peaks of Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8511m), Nuptse (7879m), Arna Dablam (6856m) and Taweche (6542m) come into view for the first time. Climbing again, the path takes us through pine trees to reach the distinctive horseshoe shaped bowl containing the village of Namche Bazar. Days 05 : This day you will take the day off to allow your bodies to adjust to the rarefied atmosphere before ascending to higher altitudes or explore to the Thame village. This is the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay, the Sherpa who made the first ascent of Everest with Hillary in 1953 and back to Namche for the overnight camp. Days 06 : From Namche Bazzar, we trek out of the village bowl and follow a small trail high above the Dudh Kosi River, where the views are incredible; behind to the west, the ridge of Nupla and Kwangde Himal (6194m); across the valley to the south, the towering ice-fluted walls of Thamserku (6623m), and to the east at the head of the valley, the Lhotse and Nuptse wall, towering a full three and a half thousand meters above the valley at Dingboche. On a small ridge across the valley, the monastery of Thyangboche can be seen, a small speck against the gigantic mountain background. We descend to Khumjung, and after staying in the more westernized town of Namche Bazar. Days 07 : After breakfast we start our journey to Dole. The trails climb steeply out of the valley through rhododendron forests, which give way to fragrant stands of juniper and large conifers as the elevation increases. This trek is especially beautiful in spring when the rhododendrons are blooming. The trails pass many Kharkas, summer settlements used when Sherpas bring herds of yaks to graze in these high pastures. The route passes through the settlement s of Tongba (3950m) and Gyele (3960m) to Dole where there're few hotels. The views of Khumbila and Twachee (6542m) are tremendous throughout the day, and it is possible to climb a ridge behind Dole for an even broader view up and down the valley. Days 08 : From Dole the trail climbs to Lambara at (4220m) and Luza at (4360m). The tails is steep in most places as it climbs through scrub junipers. There're Kharkas whenever there is a flat spot and the slightest hint of water. People from Khumjung own all the Kharkas on this side of valley. The trails continue to climb along the side of the valley, high above the river, crossing sandy spurs to Machhermo at (4410m). It was in Machhermo in 1974 that Yeti killed three yaks and attached a Sherpa woman. This is the most credit yeti incident ever reported, so be watchful as you visit this reason. Days 09 : The trail climbs a ridge for an excellent view both down the valley to Kantega and up towards Cho-Oyu (8201m). Beyond the ridge the valley widens as the trail passes through Pangka at (4390m) then descends to the riverbank before beginning of climb on to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier. It's a steep climb up the moraine, switch backing alongside the stream to the first small Lake at (4650m), where a family of green Braminy ducks resides. The trail now becomes almost level at (4690m) and finally Gokyo at (4750m). Days 10 : Early wake up and climb upto the Gokyo-Ri, the views in the Gokyo region are tremendous. For the best view, climb to Gokyo-Ri, the small peak above the Lake. This peaks of (5483m), it takes approximately 2hrs climb to the top of the peak, providing a panoramic view of Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse and Twachee. Those with more time and energy can make a trip up the valley to another lake marked with the name Ngozumpa on the maps or even beyond to a fifth Lake. There're several small peaks in this region that offer vantage points for the surrounding peaks. Days 11 : After breakfast we follow a similar trail back to Dole. Days 12 : After breakfast we follow a similar trail through a forest of juniper, rhododendron and fir to Sanasa. After lunch at Shanasa you make you way back to Namche Bazar. Days 13 : Following a steep descent passing the Bhote Kosil, crossing the river, follow the bank to Jorsale and lunch at Monjo. After lunch we down to Phakding for overnight stay. Days 14 : After breakfast, you will depart from Phakding and continue your descent along the Dudh Kosi, before making a final ascent to reach the Lukla plateau by afternoon. On arrival in Lukla you will have time to relax and celebrate the completion of your trek. Days 15 : This morning you will be transferred to Lukla Airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, you will be met and conveyed to the hotel. The remainder of the day has been left free. Days 16 : After breakfast drive to Pashupatinath. The holiest of holy Hindu temple in south Asia is the focal point of pilgrimage from all over the sub-continent. The holy river Bagmati flowing nearby is the cremation ground of the Hindus. Funeral pyres can be viewed from across the riverbank. We then visit to Boudhanath stupa. Probably the largest stupa in the world is also found in Kathmandu valley the great stupa of Boudhanath. Again the omni-sighted eyes of the Budha stare all the directions. This stupa is the place of worship of Tibetan Buddhists predominantly. We then drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur is one of the oldest cities in Kathmandu valley. It is well known as Living Museum. Old brick paved enclave of old Royal palace, Nyathapola Temple, Datatriya temple exquisite artwork offers a picture of the grandeur of medieval Nepal. It is very famous for woodcarving and pottery products. Then after we have short visit to Changunarayan temple. This is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Kathmandu valley that exists in the valley dating back to the 4th century. Days 17 : After breakfast you will have some free time until the time to leave the international airport for your final departure.

About halfway between the fist and second lakes a trail leads of across the moraine of the east. We've to pass Cho-La (5420m). Days 12 : Wake up very early and cross the Cho-La pass (5420m) with the packed lunch, as it should be crossed before sunrise. The pass is not difficult but it is steep and involves a glacier crossing on the eastern side. An ice axe, crampons are necessary for negotiating the small icefall at the foot of glacier on the other side of the pass, although in ideal condition there're no technical problems and there is a trail of sorts in the rocks beside the icefall. The western approach to the pass varies in difficulty depending on the amount of snow. The pass is not possible for yaks and usually not suitable for heavily laden porters. Days 13 : Continue along the moraine of the glacier, with views of KalarPatthar and Pumori to reach Lobuche at (4930m) for your evening stay. This will be your last stop before your climb to the base camp tomorrow. Take time to rest and acclimatize for this unforgettable day. Days 14 : Walking in the Khumbu valley alongside of Khumbu Glacier. Lunch will serve at Gorakshep then we start walking along the glacier at Everest base camp then back to Ghorakshep for over night camp. Days 15 : Weak up early morning and walk up to Kalapatthar for Sun rise Views of Everest, Nupse, Lohtse, Pumori just above and Khumbutse and beautiful views of Khumbu Glacier and back down to Gorakshep and walk down to Dingboche via Lobuche. Days 16 : This day we have a full day for acclimatization and exploring. Dingboche is a beautiful patchwork of small fields enclosed by stonewalls protecting the crops of barley and potatoes from the cold winds. It is occupied mainly through the monsoon months, when large numbers of yaks are brought here to graze on the valley pastures. Those looking for a pleasant walk can head up the valley towards Chukumng (4730m). The views are fantastic; the towering south face of Lhotse Shahar to the north, Island Peak in the centre of the valley, and the fluted ice-walls of unnamed peaks that line the southern end of the valley form a hauntingly beautiful sight. Days 17 : Follow a similar trail through a forest of juniper, fir and rhododendron. After lunch at Tyangboche, then walk back to Namche Bazar. Days 18 : Following a steep descent passing the Bhote Kosil, crossing the river, follow the bank to Jorsale, then to Monjo.
