Settlement of mixed ethnic group Brahman, Chhetri, Magar, Tamang in the low land and Sherpa in highland of Solukhumbu Everest region. Jiri to Everest base camp trek cover low land from Jiri to highland Kalapathar 5545m.

Most people heading to the Solu-Khumbu region are intent only on getting a close-up glimpse of Mount Everest and often take a plane into Lukla. However, the trail from Jiri to Namche, though not long on mountain views, does pass through numerous interesting villages that are now visited by a small number of trekkers each year.
