Langtang Ganjala Pass Helambu Trekking Detail Itinerary

Days 01 : Arrive at Tribhuwan international airport, Kathmandu, you are welcomed by the hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to your hotel. Short briefing will be followed about necessary formalities and rest of the program. Depending on arrival time you will have choice of visiting nearby sanctuaries or have a rest day.

Days 02 : After breakfast we drive to Swoyambhunatha stupa has it that Manjushree, found of Kathmandu valley, and discovered the lotus of ancient valley lake on which site the great stupa of swoyambhunath was later built. The omni sighted stare of Buddha greets visitors & residents a like compassion. This is one of the oldest Buddhist stupa in the world, which has been registered in UNICEOO heritage side. We then visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Kathmandu durbar square situated the center of Kathmandu where you can see the House of Living Goddess”KUMARI” Kasthamandup temple” Said that was built from single tree in 16th century, big bell-big drams, erotic carving in old temple, old palace etc. We then finally were sightseeing to Patan Durbar Square. Patan Durbar square is one of the beautiful Durbars square in Kathmandu valley. It is very famous for woodcarving, Metal works, Temples and Monasteries. Tour of Patan includes tour of Krishna temple, Patan king’s palace, Golden temple and much more.

Days 03 : You have breakfast being of the early morning and we drive to Dhunche by regular bus, its takes approximately 7hrs. You see along the driving time good view Himalayas of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang before Rani Pauwa where the most of the local buses stop for the tea break then down to Trisuli via a flat piece of land of Batar stop for Lunch (550m). After lunch we continue drive to Dhunche the head quarter of Rasuwa district where you’ll start to Langtang Trekking. In the evening you will prepare yourself for your trek to Langtang.

Days 04 : After breakfast we begin by walking through cultivated area and descending the forested area. We cross the suspension bridge and climb steeply along a stream. Later we climb the mountainside and emerge atop a ridge. We take a narrow path skirting around a ridge followed by cultivated fields to start climbing at a steady pace. We cross-leveled land and a forested patch and follow the mountain path to the end of a ridge, which gives a view of Syabru (2230m) and the Langtang River.

Days 05 : We descend down the ridge past fields, houses and through a forest to Chopche stream. We cross a bridge and start along a mountain path leading to a ridge snout. From here we descend a steep forested slope to the Langtang River. We cross a bridge and head up through a winding path then we enter a forest on a gentle ascent to gradually gain altitude. We pass Gumma and climb a steep hill to come to Ghore Tabela (3010m) set in a wide valley.

Days 06 : We have to cross-slightly steep hill from where the forest line ends. We follow a gentle path leading to alpine meadows. Ascends up the meadows to enter the village of Langtang. We pass through the stone-built village and climb to a Chorten and pass a huge Mani along a gentle path along a hill. After crossing a lateral moraine we arrive at Kyanjingompa (3840m).

Days 07 : If you wish walk to Langsisa Kharka: We enter a wide rolling alluvial delta and cross a stream to arrive at an airstrip. From here Langtang Lirung can be seen clearly. We follow the stream and climb the terraced hills to arrive at Jatang. After Jatang we descend to a dry riverbed only to climb up-hill once again. From here the lateral Shalbachum glacier is visible. We cut across a meadow and climb the moraine for a grandstand view of the surrounding mountains such as Langsisa Kharaka (4,000m). We can spend the afternoon relaxing here then walk back to Kyanjingompa.

Days 08 : To go from the Kyanjin Gompa, the end of the Langtang trek south to Tarke Gyang in Helambu, you have to go over the high Ganja-La (5106m). The trek takes four days to reach the Tarkegyang and between Kyanjingompa to Tarkegyang there are no any villages to stay.

Days 09 : Steeply up to Ganja-La Pass (5,106m.) marked by Tibetan flags and crossing a snow slope. We will see great view of northern Langtang range then we decent down to Keldang, which is a very hard, steep walk down.

Days 10 : Long day walking to Dukpu (4,080m). The crossing of Ganja-La takes up to 12-hrs. You will be rewarded with a beautiful view of Naya Kanga peak (5846m) as you approach the pass.

Days 11 : We trek down to the Tarkegyang. There are a large restored Gompa here dating back to the early 18th century.

Days 12 : After breakfast we to another interesting Sherpa village to Shermathang. We have lunch then we descent from the ridge through the villages, and forest. Arrive at Melamchipul Bazaar at the bank of the Indrawati River.

Days 13 : From Melamchipul Bazaar we drive to Kathmandu via Dhulikhel by regular

Days 14 : After breakfast drive to Pashupatinath. The holiest of holy Hindu temple in south Asia is the focal point of pilgrimage from all over the sub-continent. The holy river Bagmati flowing nearby is the cremation ground of the Hindus. Funeral pyres can be viewed from across the riverbank. We then visit to Boudhanath stupa. Probably the largest stupa in the world is also found in Kathmandu valley the great stupa of Boudhanath. Again the omni-sighted eyes of the Budha stare all the directions. This stupa is the place of worship of Tibetan Buddhists predominantly. We then drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur is one of the oldest cities in Kathmandu valley. It is well known as Living Museum. Old brick paved enclave of old Royal palace, Nyathapola Temple, Datatriya temple exquisite artwork offers a picture of the grandeur of medieval Nepal. It is very famous for woodcarving and pottery products. Then after we have short visit to Changunarayan temple. This is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Kathmandu valley that exists in the valley dating back to the 4th century.

Days 15 :  After breakfast we drive to Daksinkali to see the animal sacrifices. Daksinkali temple located at the foothills south of the valley is the most important venue of animal sacrifices to the goddess Kali. En-route we visit Pharping Monastery & Chovar Gorge. The Buddhist history says, Milerapa from Tibet took one night shelter in the cave, and accordingly blessed this monastery. Hindus have their version that it was Pancha Pandav who had visited this place. The Chovar gorge which god Manjushree to create the Kathmandu valley drained the waters of primeval lake. We then finally visit to Kritipur. The oldest Newari village, which is famous for local architect, then back to hotel.

Days 16 : After breakfast you will have some free time until the time to leave the international airport for your final departure.
