Trip Overview

Ramdung is situated in the south of Na of the upper Rolwaling region. It is also called Ramdung Go as one of cluster of peaks around the Yalung La. Ramdung Trekking lie in its magnificent position and splendid summit panorama that ranges from Langtang to Everest and provides a splendid view of Gauri Shankar and Menlungtse. Crossing one of the most beautiful passes of the Himalaya, Tashi Lapcha(5,755 meter), to enter into Khumbu Valley has made Ramdung Peak Expedition very popular to all adventurers for many years since the Rolwaling Valley was opened.

Ramdung Peak Expedition passes through beautiful alpine forest of pines and rhododendron and picturesque alpine passes. You can also see traditional and unspoiled rural villages blending with farm fields, alpine pastures. The will pass through villages of sherpa, with the backdrop of the towering view of Mt. Gaurishankar that straddles the border with Tibet.

Ramdung Peak Expedition

Journey continues further east to scale the 5,925m Ramdung Trekking. Ramdung Trekking is not technically hard, but it is certainly a challenging on account of the altitude and the peaks remoteness. Ramdung Trekking offers excellent view of Everest, Melungtse and Gaurishankar and array of other snow peaks. Crossing over one of the most exciting passes of the Himalaya, Tashi Labtsa at 5,755m high and entering at Khumbu.

Our Ramdung Peak Expedition, Rolwaling join two Himalayan ecology: Sagarmatha National Park and Gaurishankar Nature Conservation (GCA). Ramdung Peak lies in Rolwaling Valley, beyond the Khumbu Valley Nepal. The two valley join the Himalayan high pass: Tashi Lapcha.

The caravan route of Ramdung Peak expedition to the base camp and rounding back provide you an ample opportunities to observe two Himalayan ecology explained above. During your hiking for Ramdung Peak expedition, you will observe immense natural beauties, the Gaurishankar areas Himalayan floras and faunas as well as floras and faunas inside Sagarmatha National Park.

 

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350M/4425FT) (A)
Showing your name board, our airport representative waits in Kathmandu International Airport (TIA). You transfer to hotel, check in and free time. Have enjoy!

Day 2: Trip Final Preperation in Kathmandu (A,B)
In the morning, generally at 8 am, Eco-friendly Treks staff come to meet you at your hotel. Please manage to be there at lobby with:

(a) your original passport to prepare necessary adventure eco holiday permit/s from the concerned authority,

(b) a couple of same passport size photos for permit/s and,

(c) Trip final full payment. The staff introduce you with your trip guide at the same time. You have time to interact with your guide, he may check and suggest your trip equipmment and packing for the trip on your interest, please tell us if you like this. The rest of the day, you may buy or hire additional equipment and packing (if necessary). Then, you rest for acclimatization and final preperation for the trip. If you like any additional program for the day, please inform us at the time of mail corresponding.

Day 3: Drive to Barabise (A,B,L,D)
On the 3rd day you will drive to Barabise from Kathmandu and get started with the itinerary. As you reach to Barabis, you will have guessed the nature of the trek as you will get to see lots of forest and Himalayas on the way. In Barabise you can take your lunch. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 4: Drive to Kabre (1605M/5261FT) (A,B,L,D)
Kabre (1605m) is a beautiful destination to explore the lifestyle of local people and the religious places. Most of the people have talked about Kabre. You will find most of the people are still engaged in agriculture. You have many choices to do as you arrive to Kabre. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 5: Trek to Dolongsa (A,B,L,D)
On the 5th day, you will trek to Dolongsa from Kabre by ascendingover small settlements with the rhododendron forest. Then, you are near to your camp site. Numerous birds can be viewed in Dolongsa along with a wonderful place that will trace your heart. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 6: Trek to Bigu Gompa (2310M/7572FT) (A,B,L,D)
This day arises with the actual vertical ascent towards the magnificent sights of the Himalayas which also includes Everest, the world’s tallest peak. You will incline over a superb forest to the monastery of Bigu Gompa. You will enjoy this trek to Bigu Gompa. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 7: Trek to Chilangka (1923M/6303FT) (A,B,L,D)
On the 7th day you will move downward to Samling Khola exploring landscapes and beautiful views on the way. This day, we have to descend to Samling Khola observing the mysterious flora on the way previously the ascent to Chilangka. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 8: Trek to Dulong (1890M/6195FT) (A,B,L,D)
On the 8th day of the itinerary you will head to Dulong from Chilangka. You will head to the trek by limited ups and downs through certain glorious views of Gaurishanker Himal. Then, you will take your lunch. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 9: Trek to Shalu (1500M/4917FT) (A,B,L,D)
The ninth day’s trek is a simple one as you will hike along the comfortable trail where you will move mostly effortless to Bhote Koshi and to the village of Jagat. After Jagat, it is an easy walk upstream towards the campsite at Salu. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Salu.

Day 10: Trek to Simigoan (2000M/6556FT) (A,B,L,D)
On the 10th day, you will trek to Simigoan from Shalu after taking breakfast in the morning. The day begins with a relaxed pace along the river till you pass Bhote Koshi. Later, it is an exact vertical climb to Simigaon and hike up to the Gompa. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 11: Trek to Forest Camp (2800M/9178FT) (A,B,L,D)
On the 11th day, you will trek to Forest Camp from Simigoan. After you attempt a little steep hike, you will arrive striking mixed woodland of diverse vegetation counting Rhododendron as you hike higher. Then, you will incline for certain period of time which leads to the campsite. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 12- 13: Trek to Beding (3694M/12108FT) (A,B,L,D)
On the 12th and 13th day you will trek towards Beding from the Forest Camp. After taking breakfast, you will resume your hike through forest before arriving at an open place in Rolwaling Valley at Ramdung. Beding is the main and attractive settlement area in the Rolwaling Valley. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 14: Trek to Na (4100M/13440FT) (A,B,L,D)
On the following day you will hike towards Na from Beding right after taking your breakfast. You will discover the enormous beauty of the region while moving up the trail and continue the trek you will move uphill along the valley through the Rhododendrons to the summer settlement of Na. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 15: Rest day (A,B,L,D)
On this day you will take rest and feel good so that in next day you can trek towards the Base Camp. If you feel good then you can go and explore around the Na in the evening and can take some photographs. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 16: Trek to Base Camp (A,B,L,D)
On the 16th day you will trek to Base Camp from Na. the trek towards the Base Camp will be exciting as well as enjoyable. You will find this trek as an interesting and will remain it in future. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 17: Trek to High Camp (A,B,L,D)
The next day, you will ascend towards the High Camp from the Base Camp after taking breakfast in the morning. Comparatively you will find this trek a little bit difficult than the Base Camp but this trek is not difficult and dangerous so, you will enjoy tis trek too. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 18: Trek to climb the peak and back to Base Camp (A,B,L,D)
This is an important day where you will climb the peak after taking a breakfast. You will get to see the panoramic views from the top. Capturing the moments and enjoying every bit of it you will return to the Base Camp. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 19: Free day (A,B,L,D)
You have ascended the peak on the 18th day, so you will take some rest on the 19th day. Though this trek is not a difficult one, you do require some rest during the itinerary. It’s all up to you in what way you are interested to spend your free day. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 20: Trek to Yalung-La (A,B,L,D)
From the Base Camp you will trek to Yalung-La. Yalung-La is an attractive place where you will see the mountains covered with white snows. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

Day 21: Trek to Chetchet (1500M/4917FT) (A,B,L,D)
On this day you will trek to Chethet from Yalung La. Chetchet is a destination which should not be excluded from the itinerary. Trekking in Chetchet is a thought-provoking place which will attract you. You will take rest on the way to it and have your lunch. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 22: Trek to Chetre (1000M/3278FT) (A,B,L,D)
On this day you will trek from Chetchet to Chetre by descending. You will cross from side to side some of stimulating villages of medieval manifestation. Here, you can take some beautiful photographs as you arrive at Chetre. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 23: Trek to Dolakha (950M/3114FT) (A,B,L,D)
This day, you will carry on laterally towards the valley which is more popularly known as Tama Koshi. Crossing over the exciting forest, you will touch Dolakaha. Though located nearby the capital, Dolakha is not that developed and is in some ways still remote. You can even visit the religious temple located in Dolakha. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 24: Drive to Charikot (200M/655FT) (A,B,L,D)
From Dolakha, you will descend towards the vertical trail after taking breakfast in the morning. Charikot, the district headquarters of Dolakha, is another beautiful and refreshing place where you will almost get lost enjoying the beauty of the place. On the way to Kathmandu you will take your lunch prepared in a traditional kitchen. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 25: Drive to Kathmandu. (1350M/4425FT) (A,B,L)
The next day, you will drive back to Kathmandu from Charikot along the Araniko Highway. It is a picturesque drive to Kathmandu as you will enjoy the journey.

Day 26: Spare day in Kathmandu (A,B)

Day 27: Departure Transfer (B)
