Nepal, home of most formidable mountain range of the world. Not only does highest peak on earth, Everest falls within Nepal’s territory but so Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho oyu, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Annapurna, 8 out of 14 8000 peaks of world lies in Nepal. In 1949 Nepal opened its frontier to outside world. The 1st expedition was done in 1950 at Mt. Annapurna (8091 m). No mountaineers higher than 8000 m had ever been ascended. Maurice Herzog and Louice Lachenal were 1st French mountaineers to ascent the Annapurna. Then in 1953 Mt Everest (8,848 m), highest peak all over the worldwide climbed by Mr. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and sir Edmund Hillary of new Zealand via south east ridge route. Since then from now Nepal Himalayas become one of the most famous mountain spots for mountaineers from all over the world. At the end of 1964 many Himalayan giants has been climbed and started to become the center of joy and adventure foe mountaineering activities. Therefore, the government of Nepal has opened 414 peaks for the mountaineering activities among its numerous peaks.
