Lhotse (8516 m) is standing 3 km south of Everest which is separate by the south col part of Everest massif. It is also rank as the fourth highest mountain in the world. The main summit of Lhotse was ascent by a Swiss team named Ernst Reiss expedition. The main summit is Lhotse have more two small peals called Lhotse Middle (8418 m) and Lhotse (8383 m). It is said that Lhotse south face is the largest face in the world and declares the most dangerous to ascend.
Lhotse expedition leads you to the inner journey of self. While climbing you will connect with the Himalayas in which you experience a focus and positive you will not easily achieve in your everyday life.
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1300 m)
Upon your arrival in Tribhuvan international airport, a representative of Eco-Friendly Treks will be displaying your naming board outside the airport terminal. You will be welcomed warmly and transferred to hotel by private tourist vehicle.
Day 02-04: Expedition preparation
These two days you can explore the world heritage sites located in Kathmandu valley. There will also be pre-trip meeting at your hotel and introduce your trek leader/guide. During this meeting please ask questions regarding any confusion on your holiday. The rest of your time will be free for further exploration and some last minute shopping in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2,800 m) 45 min flight then trek to Phakding (2652 m)
An early morning drive to airport for the scenic flight to Lukla where you can see green hills and snow covered mountains. After 45 minutes we land to Lukla and meet our expedition staffs and porters and trek to Phakding which takes about 4-5 hours trekking. It is situated at the bank of Dudh Koshi and also the main trade route through the area. Overnight at Phakding.
Day 06: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3450 m)
Today we will continue our trekking up the banks of Dudh Koshi crossing the suspension bridge. Then you will reach to Monjo village where we will enter the Khumbu. We will reach Namche bazaar when we cross Dudh koshi and Bhote Koshi on high suspension bridge and climb steeply for about 2 hours. Namche bazaar is the popular town and the entrance of Khumbu region and we can find here Tibetan artifacts.
Day 07: Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar
We will spend a day to Namche bazaar to allow our body to fit in the altitude. We will also get opportunity to know the day to day lifestyle and culture of Sherpa people. Day 08: Namche bazaar to Tengboche Tengboche trekking takes you to the really beautiful Himalayas ranges of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. After passing the several villages, crossing the Dudh Koshi River and ascent steep hills then you will reach to Tengboche. You will find impressive nature and monasteries in Tengboche. Overnight at Tengboche.
Day 08: Trek to Dingboche
Following the rhododendron trees, the trekking trail leads you down to the river and has to cross the hanging bridge. An hour’s walking from here takes you to Pangboche which is the excellent view point of Amadablam. Now we will continue our trek by contouring up the valley side, crossing the river and reach to Imja valley. Then you reach to picturesque farming village of Dingboche.
Day 09-14: Acclimatization at Dingboche
This is the important phase of expedition and we should stay active and move around instead of being idle on acclimatization day. You will get opportunity to roam around beautiful village and meet the local people and their rich culture. Your team leader will take you to the short hiking with the aim of providing gradual acclimatization. Overnight at Dingboche.
Day 14-40: Climbing period of Lhotse and Back to Base Camp
Day 41-43: Namche Bazaar via Dingboche and Tengboche
Today you will descend from Namche bazaar to Dingboche via Tengboche.
Day 44-45: Tengboche to Phakding and Lukla
Today you will descent to Lukla which is the gateway to the everest region.
Day 46: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu
You will take your flight from the Lukla to Kathmadu where you can view scenic beaty of hills and snowcapped mountain.
Day 47: Rest day in Kathmandu
When you are in Kathmandu you can enjoy by visiting different world heritage site. You can also do some souvenir shopping or roam around the city. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 48: Departure
The adventure in Nepal comes to end today. A representative of Eco-friendly treks takes you to the airport for departure.
