Trip Introduction

Overview of Gosaikunda Trek

It has been observed that the desire to be in a high existence, like the Gosaikunda Trek of the Langtang Himalayas transcends the individual. Interest in passing through remote Himalayan presences such as Gosaikunda Treks is understood as transcended interest.

Please take a closer look at the graceful Gosaikunda Lake and its fascinating existence. Your level of awareness helps you discover the inner strength of the surroundings as you pass through the remote villages and their unspoiled nature.

In Hindu mythology, Gosaikunda denotes the “abode of Hindu god Shiva and goddess Parvati.” Each year, on the full moon in July or August, the festival is celebrated in this existence.

While exploring Langtang Gosaikunda Trek, you will go through Langtang Valley, Kyanging, Kyanging Ri, Laurebina La Pass, Gosaikunda, and a few other popular places. You will be as high as 4,610 meters above sea level, with most of your overnight stops being below 4,000 meters.

The Himalayan people are amicable and helpful welcome their guests with open arms, and try their best to give them proper hospitality. They put the needs and comforts of the visitors over anything else.

We lead you toward the Gosaikunda trail based on your deep, natural desire to be in the Himalayas. We ultimately aim for our guidance to support you in your passion for joy, bliss, and fulfillment.

Gosaikunda Trek Route Map

The trek begins in Kathmandu, with a scenic drive to Dhunche. The following day, your journey to Chandanwari begins. Hike through beautiful pine forests and enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains.

The trail becomes more difficult as you ascend to the sacred Gosaikunda Lake, which is surrounded by majestic mountains. You’ll retrace your steps and return to Dhunche, taking in the breathtaking scenery once more. Finally, on the final day, you return to Kathmandu with memories of crystal-clear lakes, scenic paths, and the warmth of the local culture.

Is Gosaikunda Trek difficult?

The Gosaikunda trek is relatively moderate. There are times when the trail sometimes gets steeper and more challenging, but mostly they have a low angle of climb and are easy to ascend. The route you choose or the time of year you are walking can also affect how challenging or accessible the walk will be.

Because the hike takes you over 3000 meters, altitude sickness may be a factor. However, if you ascend gradually and properly acclimatize, the entire journey should be okay with you. If you suffer from altitude sickness, don’t ignore the signs and go to a lower elevation where the air is sufficient.

For the duration of the journey, you must walk for about 5 to 6 hours each day, which can be difficult for beginners. Therefore, prepare mentally and physically for the walk and relish the stunning environment and culture.

Gosaikunda Trek Permit

For the Gosainkunda Trek, you require two different permissions. They are the Langtang National Park Entry Permit and the Local Area Permit. Without these approvals, you can not legally travel or assure your safety on this trip. Additionally, the money from these licenses is used by the government to rebuild and maintain safer trails.

With any authorized affiliate organizations under its control, the Nepalese government is in charge of issuing trekking permits.

Note: When preparing official paperwork, you will generally be requested to submit passport-size photos and a copy of your passport. Consequently, be sure to bring at least 8–10 passport-size photos. We will complete all legal requirements and acquire all required permits for your trip.

You cannot modify our itinerary for the Gosaikunda trip with a fixed departure time. You can add, reduce, or change the packages we have created on a customizable package. You can consider your options and revise them based on our guidance.

Additionally, the itinerary we have designed is the shortest option made taking care of health factors. So, reducing the days from our itinerary is highly not advised if you are a beginner in high altitudes. Reducing the itinerary may lead to a lack of time to adjust to changes in the environment, humidity, or pH, which may lead to high altitude sickness and other problems. Your body needs time to produce more red blood cells to counteract the lower oxygen saturation in blood at high altitudes. Mainly, your body takes extra time to adjust if traveling to high altitudes for the first time.

However, we offer the most excellent choices to extend the days and adapt your schedule to meet your needs if you want to spend longer in the Himalayas. Feel free to contact us; our team is pleased to design your dream package under your priorities and our guidance.

Getting a guide is optional if you are an individual trekker, as there are no rules for taking a guide mandatorily during your Gosaikunda trek. On the trekking route, you can recharge your electronic devices inside lodges, paying a certain amount for the given period. We suggest you bring an extra battery or a portable power bank as a backup. It is essential to have spare batteries on hand in case of power outages or low voltage.

It is essential to check health and fitness as you will be traveling through high-altitude regions. It helps to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all the trekkers.

We are pleased to have you visit the Gosaikunda trek with your kids and family since nature benefits children in various ways. The journey may be completed without incident with a qualified guide.

Before beginning the Gosaikunda journey, we already impose payments on several costs, including permits, taxes, and others. Please be aware that we must fully compensate our guides and porters for the time they have committed, even if you choose not to finish the entire trek. We find it very difficult to issue refunds for any reason.

Sometimes hikers finish their journey sooner than expected or terminate it early for personal or health reasons. Kindly be aware that we do not grant refunds for any portion of the trek that is not used. This also depends on the circumstances, but we request you not expect any refund for the above reasons.

It is strongly recommended that comprehensive travel insurance is taken out, which includes cover against cancellation charges.

The package we have designed for our fixed departure cannot be changed, increased, decreased, or otherwise modified. For the change, we request you to inquire directly about the customized package, where you are free to look at your options and increase, decrease, or change the activities. Our team is happy to turn your ideal package into a reality.

The schedule we provide is also one of the shortened itineraries of the region that we have created, taking health and other considerations into account. High altitude sickness and other problems may result from insufficient time to adjust to changing temperature, humidity, or pH. If you are incredibly new to high elevations, cutting your journey days short could be unhelpful for your body.

But, if you wish to extend your time in the Gosaikunda Trek, we provide the best alternative options for developing the days and tailoring your itinerary to suit your demands. Please do not hesitate to contact us; we will put together your ideal package with the help of our team and you.

We request you ask our ground team in Kathmandu for assistance in arranging day tours around the city. If you still have time extra a few days or a week after the trek, we can also put one of the following quick relaxation trips. Feel free to pick the one you think will best suit your interests.

  • Pokhara
  • Lumbini
  • Ghandruk
  • Chitwan Safari
