Most Popular Nepal Trek Booking Open for 2024/25
Below, we have listed some popular Nepal treks for booking open for 2024 and 2025. This will help you to choose your holiday in Nepal easily.
Autumn Season (September to November)
Autumn is widely considered the best time for trekking in Nepal. The monsoon rains have cleared the air, leaving the skies pristine and the landscapes lush. This season offers mild temperatures, stable weather conditions, and breathtaking visibility. So, this season makes it the most popular trekking time.
Highlights of Autumn Trekking
- Best Weather: Autumn provides clear skies, moderate temperatures, and little to no rainfall, making it the ideal time for trekking.
- Stunning Mountain Views: The crystal-clear air after the monsoon results in unobstructed views of the Himalayan peaks, including Everest, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare.
- Festivals: This season coincides with two of Nepal’s biggest festivals: Dashain and Tihar. Trekkers can witness cultural celebrations and enjoy the festive atmosphere in local villages.
- Peak Season: Since it’s the most favorable time to trek, trails can be crowded, especially in popular regions like Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit. It’s advisable to book accommodation and guides in advance.

Winter in Nepal brings cold temperatures, especially at higher altitudes. This season also offers a quieter, more serene trekking experience. While some high-altitude passes may be snowed in, lower-altitude treks are still accessible and less crowded.
Highlights of Winter Trekking:
- Less Crowded Trails: Winter is the off-peak season for trekking in Nepal, which means you’ll encounter fewer trekkers, providing a more peaceful and personal trekking experience.
- Clear Skies: Despite the cold, winter months often bring crisp and clear days with excellent visibility of the mountains.
- Festivals and Cultural Experiences: Winter treks coincide with cultural festivals like Christmas and New Year’s Eve, often celebrated in guesthouses along the trails.

It’s also a time when mountaineers begin their expeditions to conquer peaks like Everest, adding an exciting vibe to the trekking experience.
Highlights of Spring Trekking:
- Blooming Flora: One of the best features of spring trekking is the vibrant bloom of rhododendrons, Nepal’s national flower, which carpets the hillsides in bright pinks, reds, and whites.
- Comfortable Temperatures: The temperatures in spring are moderate, neither too cold nor too hot, making trekking comfortable during the day. However, nights can still be chilly at higher elevations.
- Expedition Season: Spring is when Everest and other major expeditions begin. Trekkers heading to Everest Base Camp can witness the hustle and bustle of climbers preparing for their summit attempts.

Summer/Monsoon Season (June to August)
Summer in Nepal coincides with the monsoon season, bringing heavy rains to most parts of the country. Trekking during the monsoon can be challenging due to slippery trails, leeches, and cloud-covered mountains. However, for those willing to take on the challenge, it can also be a rewarding experience, especially in the rain-shadow areas of Nepal that remain relatively dry.
Highlights of Summer Trekking:
- Lush Green Landscapes: The rains transform the hills into lush, vibrant green landscapes, and waterfalls are in full flow, creating stunning scenery.
- Fewer Crowds: Summer is the least crowded trekking season, making it ideal for those seeking solitude.

Notice Regarding Fly to/from Lukla
Flights between Kathmandu and Lukla are often rerouted to depart from Manthali due to congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). This usually happens during peak trekking seasons (March, April, May, October, and November). Manthali is approximately a five-hour drive from Kathmandu, so you will be picked up from your hotel around 12:30 am to make the journey to Manthali in time for your 20-minute flight to Lukla.
However, during the off-peak seasons (January, February, June, July, August, September, and December), direct flights to Lukla are available from Kathmandu. In these months, you will be picked up from your hotel around 5 am and taken to TIA for your morning flight. It takes around 40 minutes to fly from Kathmandu.
Your return flight might also land in Manthali instead of Kathmandu, while flying back from Lukla during peak trekking months, In that case, we will arrange for transportation back to Kathmandu. If you are trekking during the off-season, your return flight will land directly at Kathmandu.
If you wish to avoid the long drive between Kathmandu and Manthali, you can opt for a helicopter ride. A one-way helicopter flight between Kathmandu and Lukla costs approximately $550, provided the cost is shared among five people.
